What is FSC®?

What is FSC®?

The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is a global, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of responsible forest management worldwide.

FSC® (FSC® C143211) defines standards based on agreed principles for responsible forest stewardship that are supported by environmental, social, and economic stakeholders.

The FSC® label signifies that the material used for the product has been responsibly sourced. In detail it indicates that the wood has not been illegally harvested; harvested in violation of traditional and civil rights; harvested in forests where high conservation values (HCVs) are threatened; harvested in forests being converted to plantations or non-forest use or harvested in forests where genetically modified trees are planted.

The FSC® label enables consumers and companies to choose goods in wood that origins from a responsible forest management, meaning that is has been sourced responsibly considering people and environment.
